The Brief

Igloo are a digital security consultancy working with purpose-driven businesses. Following a successful launch and period of growth, Igloo were looking to go through a major rebrand to better communicate their purpose, personality and positioning to their target audience. 

The Solution

The new brand identity, including new name, ‘igloo’, aims to bring together references from nature- showing they care about people and planet- and the digital world. The idea of being protected, given piece of mind and sheilded from harm sits at the heart of the brand idea.

Naming

After a thorough brand strategy workshop, it was time to start the naming process. We kicked off with a workshop to establish a naming strategy and to start to mindmap ideas using various themes and activities.

After the initial naming sprint, three names were selected for testing and sent out via a survey, before the final name, Igloo, was selected for simplicity, memorability and it’s link to protection, sustainability and nature.

Initial concepts

As with all branding projects, we produced a number of initial concepts based on the brand strategy and inspired by their new name. All three concepts hinted at the name - and the meaning behind the name, in both subtle and overt ways.
