Rooted Juniors

Rooted Juniors is a Bible-based subscription box service for children ages 7–11, by Bible Society.

Following the success of their supporter subscription box, Rooted, Bible Society developed a version for kids: Rooted Juniors.

Scope of work

  • Rooted Juniors required a new visual identity that was inspired by the parent-brand, Rooted, as well as sitting within the wider brand architecture of the master brand: Bible Society. All while feeling fresh, new and exciting for children to receive.

  • The main deliverable was the box design and its contents. We created a suite of templates in-house that could be used to keep the boxes and the inner content on-brand, yet with room for a new visual theme each time, to match the theme of the box.

    Using a full-width printed sleeve around the box, we designed the boxes to be vibrant, colourful and inviting. The aim is to inspire and delight - fill eyes with joy at the sight of one of these boxes coming through their letterbox.

  • While most of the contents of each box changes with each theme, one of the main reoccurring items is the Rooted Juniors magazine: a small booklet containing a Bible story, a Bible Society impact story and a load of activities relating to the theme of the box.

    Throughout the magazine and dotted around other touchpoints of the brand, are two regular illustrated characters: Lily and Leo - a lion and a lamb. Inspired by Bible stories, these furry friends help to guide children through the resources and inspire them to fully engage with the stories and activities inside.
